What does a garden look like? What does a park look like? What’s the story of a garden?
Described Toronto seeks out these answers in a new audio storytelling project and you're invited to join them!
Through interviews with community gardeners, audio description of the park and garden, a live presentation with native plant expert Lorraine Johnson, and an in-person guided walk, Described Toronto invites you in – from wherever you are in the world.
Two events in the garden as well as audio clips released online throughout the summer will welcome attendees, both in-person and virtual, to experience the fascinating world of native plants and be inspired by the hope that is cultivated when natural habitats are restored.
On Thursday, June 20 @ 6:30pm ET, you can attend a live presentation in and around the Hopewell Community Pollinator Garden, with live audio description embedded in the talk.

Accessibility
Both in-person events will include ASL interpretation, vocal amplification, and embedded audio description.
The sidewalk leading to the garden is wheelchair accessible. There are a few benches available nearby for seating but attendees are advised to bring a portable chair or blanket if they require seating for the in-person events.
The guided walk will include additional audio description and a limited number of sighted guides.
Attendees who wish to have a sighted guide available are asked to contact us in advance by emailing Christine: christine.malec@gmail.com.
