Explore the Art of Communicating Your Needs with Ophira Calof

Crip Livelihoods: Creative Skills Workshops for Deaf and Disabled Artists

Promo image for "Explore the Art of Communicating Your Needs with Ophira Calof."

November 22nd @ 12 - 1:30pm ET | Online [Zoom]

Collaboration is a key component of art-making as a creative professional, especially within the Disability arts community. Whether you're working on a long-term project or a short-term contract, creating a space where both you and your collaborators feel supported is essential.

This accessible workshop focuses on building an access framework that fosters understanding, inclusivity, and the flexibility to adapt to evolving needs throughout the creative process.

Hosted by Ophira Calof, participants will be guided through the development of access riders, a powerful tool that helps Deaf and Disabled artists clearly communicate their accessibility needs. By exploring the key components of an access rider, you'll learn how to effectively advocate for yourself and enhance your working relationships.

This workshop is part of our fall/winter programming Crip Livelihoods, a series of online accessible skills workshops designed by and for Deaf and Disabled Creatives.
