The Access Playbook is a disability-led online training program designed for arts presenters, producers, arts service organizations, and cultural organizations across Canada.
Through six self-paced learning modules, live cohort discussions, practical tools, and conversations with Deaf and Disabled artists, participants develop the knowledge, confidence, and action plans needed to strengthen accessibility within their organizations and communities.
The Access Playbook is offered twice annually through Spring and Fall cohorts.
Topics include:
- Understanding Disability arts and culture
- Identifying barriers and opportunities
- Building relationships with artists and communities
- Accessible communication and outreach
- Budgeting and resourcing accessibility
- Developing an Access Action Plan
At the end of the program, participants leave with a practical Access Action Plan tailored to their organization and goals.
"One of the most valuable aspects of the program so far has been the artist coffee chats. You've given us those opportunities to have those conversations and to not be by myself." -Spring Cohort participant
Ways to Work with Us
Sponsor participation for your members
Help make the program more accessible to your members by subsidizing a portion of their registration fees.
For example, the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) supported five member organizations to participate in our Spring 2026 cohort by covering 80% of their registration fee.
Support an upcoming conference or initiative
The Access Playbook can be adapted to complement conferences, showcase events, leadership programs, or other professional development activities.
Explore funding opportunities together
We know that budgets are often limited. We're happy to provide support materials for grant applications and other funding opportunities that can help make participation for your networks possible!
