Free tickets to Hot Docs!

Inside: Feature documentary by Samuel Habib, a typical 21-year-old, itching to move out, start a career and find love. Oh and free tickets!

When non-disabled people tell our stories, we only get to have three stories: ‘Help me, I’m disabled.’ ‘Cure me.’ ‘Kill me.’ We have to tell our own stories.

The Hot Docs Festival is coming April 25th – May 5th, with a selection of screenings with open and closed captioning, as well as live captioning or ASL interpreters for these screenings’ introductions and Q&As whenever possible.

A feature this year is The Ride Ahead, which follows Samuel as he navigates the path to adulthood with a disability, reaching out to disability activists across the country for wisdom.

In this expansion of his short film Disability Roadmap (Hot Docs 2022), director Samuel Habib is a typical 21-year-old, itching to move out of the family nest, start a career and find sex, love and partnership.

The film is directed by Samuel and his father, Dan Habib, and aims to transform awareness, promote understanding of ableism, and produce lasting and meaningful cultural change for young adults with disabilities.

This film screens April 28th and April 30th.

Free tickets!

Pssst, we'll be sending out a special promo code to our members this Friday to get free tickets to this film, (thank you, Hot Docs!). Keep reading to learn how you can become a member and don't miss out on this opportunity.
