Neither Starved Nor Cold is an amputee-based integrated dance work using both disabled and able-bodied performers.
This piece is the first ever amputee dance work featuring a multiplicity of amputee performers, choreographed by Montreal choreographer Heidi Latsky, with past performances at the Gibney Dance Centre in New York City.
About the Artist
Lawrence Shapiro is created and performs in Neither Starved Nor Cold.
Lawrence Shapiro is a validated deaf and disability artist with the Canada Council, currently based in Toronto. Shapiro is also the author of "The Physically Disabled Dancer and the Affirmative Model of Disability," published by Routledge Press in 2025, the first book ever written by a physically disabled dancer on the subject of physically disabled dancers.
