Who We Are

Creative Connector is a dynamic, early-stage nonprofit dedicated to supporting Deaf and Disabled artists and creatives. Our mission is to foster an inclusive, accessible, and collaborative arts community, amplifying the voices of artists with disabilities.

As a founder-led organization, we are committed to driving systemic change and expanding opportunities for marginalized creatives.

About the Board

Our Board of Directors plays a vital advisory role.

We are a small, collaborative team working closely with the Founder to shape strategy, provide guidance, and help grow the organization's reach and impact. Board members support fundraising, strategic development, and community engagement, all while championing our mission.

Position 1: This is a volunteer role suited to someone with experience in fundraising to:

  • Offer guidance on fundraising models and revenue strategies
  • Lead or participate in fundraising efforts, including quarterly board meetings and monthly fundraising committee meetings
  • Advise on hiring fundraising professionals or consultants, as well as systems and processes to support fundraising efforts.
  • Share expertise in nonprofit growth and sustainability

Position 2: This is a volunteer role suited to someone with experience in a variety of key areas that help a non-profit.

  • Champion our mission and strategic goals
  • Offer guidance and advice in your specialized knowledge area such as legal, strategic planning, community organizing, fundraising, lobbying and/or advocacy, technology, product development, design, accessibility, the arts sector, etc.
  • Lead or participate in discussions regarding your specialized knowledge area, including quarterly board meetings and committee meetings
  • Advise the founder in your specialization

Time Commitment

  • Four virtual board meetings a year lasting two to three hours each meeting
  • Additional virtual committee meetings once or twice a month lasting around 1 to 2 hours each

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Brings strong collaboration and listening skills
  • Cares deeply about the arts, accessibility, and disability community
  • Brings an open, inclusive mindset and a commitment to thoughtful, values-led leadership
  • Can hold space for honest conversation and critical thinking in a respectful way

Bonus Qualifications (Not a requirement, but nice to have):

  • Experience in the arts or cultural sector
  • Experience working with nonprofits or service organizations
  • Lived experience of marginalization (including disability, Deaf identity, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, etc.)
  • Ability to advocate for our mission to donors, funders, and networks
  • Familiarity with or interest in the field of Disability Arts

Both positions are open to individuals across Canada.
If you’re interested, please submit your resume and brief letter of interest by July 18th, 2025 to info@creativeconnector.art.
