In the wake of the unexpected death of her friend, and fellow theatre artist, Jordan Mechano, performer and playwright Laura Anne Harris discovered more than 700 pages of his writing.
Have Fun Kids is the result — a raw, tender, and quietly radical solo theatre show that blends Jordan’s text with Laura’s own stories of grief, memory, and the fragile act of remembering.
On stage this summer for the Toronto Fringe, the creative and production team of Have Fun Kids is currently seeking donations to help support the creation of this show.
Your donation will:
- provide equitable salaries for the artists of the Have Fun Kids company
- cover the cost of rehearsal space, electronic and digital platforms
- support marketing and audience outreach
- provide the means of enhanced accessibility for both audience & company members
Convection Productions has partnered up with The Hearth Initiative for the official Have Fun Kids FUNdraiser.
All donations come with a tax receipt and will be used to support the artists and creative team of Have Fun Kids for their Toronto Fringe debut.
If enough funds are raised to cover artist expenses, the team at Convection Productions will make a donation to Anishnawbe Health Toronto, in memory of Jordan Mechano.
