Is it just me, or is making friends as an adult a seemingly impossible task?
I mean, I will admit, I'm a homebody.
I like being at home:
- In my emotional support sweater (a hand-me-down from my sister that was then claimed by my mom and now finds itself on my personhood 6/7 days of the week)
- Sorting through my trove of junk I've collected from the week for my journal,
- Sipping on a new iced tea concoction I'm testing out thanks to JuiceTok (a subsection of TikTok dedicated to folks passionate about juice... yes... it's a real thing).
So, I understand how none of these things necessarily add up to a riveting life of extracurriculars.
Enter: my workplace!
One of the things I love most about working at Creative Connector is the ability to connect.
(I know, I know, it sounds cheesy, but it's true).
Lindsay and I recently met the team behind Unboxing Accessibility, an incredible mentorship program designed for and with BIPOC young people with
disabilities.

Their mission? Empowering young people with a sense of belonging,
community, and a space to explore why their voice matters.
I mean, could it be a better friendship match or what?!
I'm so excited about this new connection and to help amplify the work that Unboxing Accessibility is doing in the community.
